Penfield School successfully organized an exciting and educational excursion to the Volta Region of Ghana, where students visited the breathtaking Wli Falls and the renowned Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary. The trip was both adventurous and enriching, offering learners the opportunity to connect classroom knowledge with real-life experiences.

At Wli Falls, the highest waterfall in Ghana and West Africa, students were thrilled by the scenic beauty of nature. Surrounded by lush greenery and the calming sound of cascading water, learners observed geographical features such as hills, rocks, streams, and vegetation that form part of Ghana’s natural environment.
Many students described the moment they first saw the waterfall as unforgettable. The hike also encouraged endurance, cooperation, and appreciation for nature.
The visit to Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary was equally engaging. Students learned about wildlife conservation and the cultural significance of the Mona monkeys, which are protected by the local community. Tour guides educated learners on how the sanctuary promotes eco-tourism while preserving Ghana’s biodiversity.
This excursion forms part of Penfield School’s commitment to experiential learning. By stepping outside the classroom, students gained practical knowledge in Geography, Science, Social Studies, and Environmental Education.
Penfield School extends sincere appreciation to parents and guardians for their unwavering support in making this excursion a success. Your cooperation and trust enabled our students to enjoy a safe, educational, and memorable journey.
We also commend our dedicated staff and tour guides for ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants throughout the trip.
